What Does our Filters remove?
A sediment filter removes suspended particulate matter like dirt, sand, dust, and debris from water, improving water clarity and protecting appliances and fixtures from damage.
- What it removes:
Sediment filters are designed to capture solid particles that are suspended in the water, such as:
- Sand
- Silt
- Dirt
- Rust
- Clay
- Other debris
Our Sediment filters use a mesh and screen to trap these particles, preventing them from passing through and potentially clogging pipes or appliances.
- Sand
Our Granular activaed garbon (GAC) filters are highly effective at removing chime from your water supply making them a common choice for improving water taste and odor, and also removing other contaminants.
- How GAC Works:
GAC filters work by using the principle of adsorption, where the carbon granules capture and hold specific chemicals, including chlorine, as water flows through them
- Effective Chlorine Removal:
GAC filters are widely recognized as effective for removing chlorine, which can impart an unpleasant taste and odor to water.
- Other Contaminants:
Besides chlorine, GAC filters can also remove other contaminants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and improve water taste and odor.
As well as removing everything included in our single stage filter.
Our limescale resin filter, also known as a water softening filter removes limescale causing minerals (calcium and magnesium ions) from water through an ion exchange process, replacing them with sodium ions.
- How it works:
- Water enters the filter and flows through a bed of resin beads.
- These resin beads are typically made from synthetic polymers that can exchange ions.
- The resin beads are charged with sodium ions.
- As hard water (containing calcium and magnesium ions) flows through the resin, the calcium and magnesium ions are attracted to the resin and are exchanged for the sodium ions.
- This process effectively softens the water by removing the minerals that cause limescale.
- Water enters the filter and flows through a bed of resin beads.
- What we can remove:
- Primarily, it removes calcium and magnesium ions, which are the main culprits behind limescale formation.
- Some filters also remove other impurities like heavy metals and chlorine.
As well as removing everything from our two stage filter and single stage filter.
- Primarily, it removes calcium and magnesium ions, which are the main culprits behind limescale formation.

Best home improvement decision we've made this year!"
"As someone with chemical sensitivities, finding clean drinking water was a priority for my family. The drinking water system we installed exceeds all expectations. The water tastes amazing, and I love knowing that we're no longer consuming chlorine and other contaminants. The free water testing revealed issues we weren't even aware of. Thank you for your expertise and excellent service!"
"We moved into an older home with serious iron issues in the water. Everything was staining orange - our laundry, bathtubs, even our dishwasher! The Problem Water Solution team diagnosed the issue immediately and installed a specialized system to address it. Six months later and not a rust stain in sight! I only wish we'd called sooner."
"Running a restaurant means water quality directly impacts our product quality. The foodservice filtration system has been a game-changer for our business. FAQs
Replacement frequency varies by filter type and water quality. Generally, sediment pre-filters need replacement every 3-6 months, carbon filters every 6-12 months, and reverse osmosis membranes every 2-3 years. Our technicians can provide a customized schedule based on your specific system and water conditions.
Our systems remove a wide range of contaminants including chlorine, lead, mercury, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, bacteria, viruses, sediment, and more. The specific contaminants removed depend on your chosen filtration system. Our free water testing service can identify which contaminants are present in your water supply.
Most whole-house filtration systems can be installed in 2-4 hours. Point-of-use systems typically take 1-2 hours. Installation time may vary based on your home's plumbing configuration and system complexity.
Minor plumbing modifications are typically required for whole-house systems, but our professional installers handle everything. We connect the system at your water's point of entry to ensure all water entering your home is properly filtered.
